Walmart Lease to Own

SmartPay partnered with Walmart to explore a hybrid retail experience that would allow Walmart customers to apply for lease-to-own financing for Straight Talk phones and plans directly on their personal devices — without waiting at the electronics counter.
The concept allowed customers to:
- Apply for SmartPay financing in the aisle or elsewhere in the store
- Browse eligible Straight Talk devices and plans
- Complete their lease, identity verification, and e-signature on their own phone
- Generate a barcode or QR code
- Walk to any Walmart associate to scan and complete the transaction
This experience created a more private, flexible, and efficient path for users, while reducing counter congestion for Walmart staff.
